Hello, I have made another post for general information on moving to Japan to find a job, but was unable to get any specific information on Osaka, which is where I desire to live. I was hoping that some kind people might be able to help me here...

I have done my research and have all of my required documentations to enter the country and get a job, and I have over 5k$ saved. I already have a plane ticket, and I will be searching from within Osaka. I found a guesthouse to rent for a month, and I will be arriving in Osaka around March 20. I have compiled a list of ESL schools to the best of my ability, but I am not sure which are now defunct, and no idea which are hiring. I plan on e-mailing some of the major ones to arrange an interview ahead of time. I have gaijinpot and several other job search web sites bookmarked to keep me up to date with new offers.

Can anyone offer me any advice? I know I am walking into a tough market, at the end of hiring season, but I am confident in my resume and ability as a teacher enough to believe that I can find a full time job. If you were in my position, what would your approach be? As my departure date nears, I'm really working to get everything as streamlined as possible, so I can approach this situation effectively.

So, what would you do if you were me?

Thanks!
jrr

Good luck... each ad posting gets hundreds of resumes. Companies that aren't advertising at all are getting hundreds of resumes.

I have two years experience teaching in public schools and have great reviews from coworkers and supervisors but it's really tough with all the competition. You'll likely be competing with people with experience and visas so there might not be much around...
