Hello, I have made another post for general information on moving to Japan to find a job, but was unable to get any specific information on Osaka, which is where I desire to live. I was hoping that some kind people might be able to help me here...
I have done my research and have all of my required documentations to enter the country and get a job, and I have over 5k$ saved. I already have a plane ticket, and I will be searching from within Osaka. I found a guesthouse to rent for a month, and I will be arriving in Osaka around March 20. I have compiled a list of ESL schools to the best of my ability, but I am not sure which are now defunct, and no idea which are hiring. I plan on e-mailing some of the major ones to arrange an interview ahead of time. I have gaijinpot and several other job search web sites bookmarked to keep me up to date with new offers.
Can anyone offer me any advice? I know I am walking into a tough market, at the end of hiring season, but I am confident in my resume and ability as a teacher enough to believe that I can find a full time job. If you were in my position, what would your approach be? As my departure date nears, I'm really working to get everything as streamlined as possible, so I can approach this situation effectively.
So, what would you do if you were me?
Thanks!
