|
|
Hi
I am currently in Korea on a tourist visa with the goal of moving to Japan.
I have a job all line up in Japan - I want to go over on a tourist visa sign the contract then get my new working visa.
I dont want to apply for my 'certificate of eligability in Japan' in Korea due to the fact that I have a crimminal record for working illegal privates in Korea.
Can I apply for my work visa in Japan?
Do I have to leave the country?
Will the Japanese government allow me to work there with my 'record'?
Thanks in advance. |

Yes, you can apply for the COE in Japan. Why can't you apply for it there?
No, you do not have to leave the country to finalize visa processing.
Uncertain about the acceptance due to working illegally in Korea. |

How did they catch you on your private lessons? Did someone walk up to you in the middle of the lesson and say "Show me your private teaching license please!"? |

"Daehanmeenguk" means South Korea, and "cheengu" means friend. Apparently there's a 1,000,000 won reward for dobbing teachers doing private lessons. And, the way the system works in Korea, heresay is as good as gold when it comes to dealing with foreigners. There is supposedly an appeals board, but I have yet to hear of them taking the foreigner's side of the story. |

The system over here is a joke if you're weigookan / gaijin and this is for all aspects of the legal spectrum.
I've been to numerous Immigration offices, Ministry of Justice etc. They are of no help at all.
Grrr Korea - Don't come its not worth it.
