Hi,
I am getting my M.A. in the fall. I signed up for a K-12 certification track program. I've done a bit of research and have discovered that many of the best-paying jobs require certified teachers. There are a lot of opportunities at international schools and through government programs (Hong Kong NET, UAE, etc.) Moreover, they generally offer free/cheap tuition for dependents. I do not have children yet, but if I do - that would be a big plus. However, I currently teach adults and feel I would be better suited to teaching at a university. I would like to conduct research and publish. It would also cost me $5,000-$7,000 less to do general track, and I could possibly finish a semester earlier. If I taught in K-12, I would request high school. It's possible that some schools would let me publish. Any thoughts/comments? I'm not greedy, but I would need to pay off my loan debt eventually. |
