Hey all,
I'll be moving back to China soon, but don't have a job set up yet, and no real obligations as far as a specific city I have to go to, so I can pretty much go anywhere.
Having recently found out that Shanghai really is a good bit more expensive then the other cites, and not being a fan of Guangzhou or Beijing, I guess I will be going to one of the smaller, or medium sized, cities.
If I was going to one of those cities, probably a southern one (Zhuhai, Kunming, Guilin, etc. etc.) what would be the best way for me to get in touch/find agencies that can hook me up with students for one on one teaching?
Just ask on ex - pat boards? or is there a better and more efficient way?
Regards

When the hiring begins in March, subscribe to ESLJOBS.com. That'll give you a good idea regarding current advertised pay as well as the types of jobs available in given areas. It'll also give you exposure to the many agents working in this field.
Buy yourself asbestos underwear before you start your search. |

Thanks, I am specifically interested in one on one tutoring however, mostly because I'm only looking to work a few hours a week, preferably 3 - 5 hours each two days a week, or something like that, and one on one private tutoring seems to fit that bill the easiest. I'm not aware of very many classroom jobs I could get that would just allow me to work a few days a week.
In particular I'll ask about the following 4 cities:
Zhuhai
Guilin
Kunming
Xiamen
Firstly, can anybody give me the names/links to some good expat forums for any of these cities.
Secondly, is there a way I can find info on/directly contact agencies that could help set me up with students for one on one tutoring in any of the above cities. |

I looked through the first three pages and couldn't find any thread that would seem to contain links to good Expat forums for the cities I mentioned.
If somebody could give me the name of/a link to this thread that would be great.
I know I can find Expat forums via google, but sometimes there are multiple expat sites for one city, so I was looking for peoples opinions on what some of the better expat sites are for the cities I mentioned above. |

it's here (page 2 off topic forum):
Sites Related To Cities In China
not every city in china is going to have an expat website, and whether or not its a "good" site will depend on what it is you're looking for. at any rate, at least three of the cities you asked for info on (kunming, zhuhai, xiamen) have sites listed in this thread. |
