We are a U.S. couple--experienced ESL professionals who haven't yet found EFL/ESL teaching jobs for fall 2010--and we plan to spend the next year or two in Turkey. We leave the U.S. (Seattle) on June 1 and are struggling to do it all legally. Since we can't arrange a work permit and since we plan to study intensive Turkish while we're in the country, we want to apply for an educational visa.

Any suggestions for quality Turkish instruction in Bursa or Antalya? We need to enroll in a language school accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Education (not just with an individual, I think) in order to qualify for the education visa.

We'd appreciate your advice or comments--both about what to seek and what to avoid. Many thanks!

I'd suggest Tomer language school, the most known one and they specialise on teaching Turkish, other languages, too. It's also a division of Ankara University, so the quality of instruction should be adequate there (though never tried it myself, learnt Turkish "on the go"). There's Tomer in Antalya, as for Bursa - not certain.
Check it out, I'm sure 99,9 % it'll work for your legal papers.
