Macquarie. They have an outstanding reputation in this field. I daresay they are the leaders in Australia.

Thanks for the advice. I was frustrated when i didn't have an offer, now I'm frustrated trying to decide which one. The latest offer since this post is Aston.
What do think of UK schools vs Aus schools. Call me lazy, but I dread the thought of writing a 40 page dissertation. All the UK schools seem to be focused on dissertations. Advice? Suck it up and write the damn paper or what? Should I do the coursework program from a good AUS school with no dissertation?

Mr. Frustration..

Suck it up and write the paper. (Now if I'd follow my own advice, the degree would be much closer!)

Where are you looking to go, and where are you from?

Maquarie has a pretty decent rep, and is probably the best thought of amongst your three. Nonetheless, an American friend of mine has had a heck of a time getting her degree from Maquarie recognised in the US.

(Controversial statement)

In general, it seems like masters programs from the UK have fewer reputation problems than a lot of Australian programs do.

I know a lot of good teachers with degrees from USQ, but as that program has expanded, it does seem to be getting a (undeserved, for all I know) degree mill rep. I've seen ads and heard human resource departments that discriminate against that one.

Best,
Justin

I agree with Justin - if Aston is an option, suck it up and do the diss.
My own UK degree is accepted essentially everywhere. It was tough, but worth it.

If you're going to do it, do it properly.

Thanks Mr T.,

I'm Canadian, but I've generally turned Asian in the past 5 years. I'm not sure where this MA will take me other than into new opportunities. I shouldn't be afraid of writing a dissertation, because I do have some interesting ideas for a topic. From my other postings, it's fairly easy to see that I need to get out of Thailand, or at least out the uni I work for. I like voice my opinion, and in this institute/culture it's seen as disrespectful. I know who butters my bread, so I play their game, but I think change is inevitable. Thanks for the reply Mt. T.
Where are you now? Korea?
