Hey all,
Am currently teaching in South Korea for a year, contract ends in September.
Are there many job openings around that time in decent areas in Thailand?
I would only consider Bangkok/well known areas on the coast..
Qualifications are as follows:
BA English and Psychology
Post Grad Degree in Education (PGCE)
4 Week ACELS recognised TEFL teaching course.
1 year teaching experience in South Korea.
Would appreciat any advice/info! |

Yes there are plenty of teaching jobs in Bangkok available in October and November mostly in government schools. Bear in mind that December is a bad month to look for work in Thailand as most Thais are on holiday and don't want to study english. Pattaya, Phuket and Surrattani are always looking for teachers to teach English problem is it's very competitive in these coastal areas as most EFL teachers want to be there instead of the polluted, crowded and noisy Big Mango Bangkok... |

With a PGCE and BA Eng, why not look into the low-mid tier "International Schools". just do a google search and you should find a list. Teachers are always coming and going here and while its not the prime job search time, with your resume, you should have no problems finding work in Bangkok and MAYBE in a coastal area. Most schools in Thailand hire in country so you will have to be here anyways. Ask around and do some internet work to find "the" website for jobs in Thailand and you should be fine. |
