Hello all,

I signed up cos I see much advice from more experienced Spain teachers here. I have some questions I hope might get some answers that I have not found answers to.

Background, I am 31, teaching for ten years on and off, celta cert, worked abroad as well as esl at home (i am eu citizen). i have taught business english, cambridge exam prep etc. i also speak some spanish and was to madrid before plus i know someone there fairly well.

as with so many - i dont want to teach kids - adults only Smile

this means if i go to madrid - in-company teaching is all i can do since academies are always kids included right?

so i hear mixed things about agencies... here are my questions...

1. do all agencies allow you to teach autonomo or do some make you sign a contract meaning you can only work for them?

2. how much on average do people make working in-company. i know it would refer to number of private clients too but i mean not doing private, just working for your average agency about 25 hours a week?

3. could someone give me a rough idea of how much wage goes on rent? would it be half? like you make 1200 and flat is 600?

4. is it true that landlords expect usually 3 months rent in advance? i read that for barcelona.

5. Are there still plenty of jobs with agencies in Madrid for someone like me or has it changed a lot?

These are my main concerns so far.

Thanks so much - this will really help me out Wink
