A student asked about the best job title for this description:

She has over 20 years of experience in prestigious cosmetics business, mainly in Education and Sales area. She is now independent and working for some cosmetics companies as consultant basis.

She has a great deal of knowledge and experience in:

1. Training for beauty advisors (sales ladies) including products, skin structures, cosmetics ingredients, sales manner, conversation with customers both women and men.

2. How to create and increase sales (she used to be a top seller at Isetan, #1 cosmetics business store in Japan).

2. Sales negotiation with department managers

3. PR/event presentation to media people and customers in the stores.

As now she is independent, I would like her to have more appropriate title which sounds more professional on her name card. The title should include related word like "beauty".

Any ideas guys? Independent beauty image consultant?

What kind of job title do you use for yourself?

I'm not sure this is the right forum! But how about Consultant Beautician?
Some countries, such as the UK, are wary of overly long titles, suspecting them of being fluff to cover up nothingness.

I agree, wordy titles seem odd at best in the US.

I do think you need something in there applying to marketing and sales aspects as well.

CEO of her own company.....she can be creative in framing the name of the company.

Nothing says it all quite like CEO (boss)......creative, entrepreneurial, serious, responsible, innovative, master of my fate etc., etc., etc.

A beauty CEO? I don't think that will quite cut it.

CEO is a catchy title, but not so often used for a consultant type unless you actually have some people working for you Rolling Eyes.

Thought this link might be useful to you in your future posts. It is a link to a very helpful process for eliciting quality information. It has application in many areas including common daily conversation. You have probably run across it before but a refresher or some self guided PD never hurts. Hope you find it useful.

I'm sure you meant well jdl, but I'm not sure that it helps that much in this case. But anyway, thanx.
