Do we say someone "came somewhere on/for business" and do we say someone "came somewhere on/for pleasure'. Are all four of the following sentences grammatically correct?
1. I came here on business.
2. I came here for business.
3. I came here for pleasure.
4. I came here on pleasure. |

Number four would not be correct in my country. The other three look OK. |

I agree with markholmes. In the U.S., numbers 1,2, and 3 are correct.
Doing a Google search on these exact phrases brought up: 498,000 hits (#1); 706,000 hits (#2); 292,000 hits (#3); however, only 4 hits for #4, two of which were this very question. |
