I recently posted this on the newbies forum:
"Ive heard that in some countries (I wont say which in case its untrue) its considered good fun to go out and try to get the new teacher as drunk as possible. Has anyone come across this? Has anyone come across the situation where the statement I dont drink alcohol? is not respected?"
I got several responses re mainland China and Korea (and one on russia)
Could anyone advise please the situation in Taiwan?
I'd be grateful for any advice.
cheers

Why? Do you want to get some new teachers drunk?
I've never heard of this. Most teachers I've met would rather spend the money getting themselves drunk. |
