Well, I wrote a long post just the other day, but for some reason it was deleted. So I'll write a much briefer one.

Who has been here in the country for some time now? Say, more than a couple years. I've been here 4 years, pretty much all of that time in Queretaro.

How has your work situation changed over the years? Are you better off? What are you looking to do or hoping to do in the years to come?
I worked for several language institutes. Now I'm off on my own as an independent teacher. My situation's improved, no question. What I'm looking to do is part of the reason I'm writing this post. I'm interested in getting to know other professional teachers.

Why are you still in Mexico? Me? Because of my wife and kid, and waiting to see what doors open.

I'll hit the 10 year mark this year.

Work has gotten better and better with each passing year. I work independently now and enjoy the much more flexible schedule.

I'm still in Mexico because of the food...can't leave I'm afraid. The taco trap.

We've purchased property and had a child in Mexico City, and the girlfriend has a job at one of the top schools in the land. We're settled in for the long haul.

One year behind Guy.

I would say things are better spiritually and financially. I live the same kind of lifestyle I'd expect back in England. Car paid for, mortgage paid off 100% and a few sidelines to keep my body and soul warm.

Why do I stay? God knows! I guess splitting a Mexican from her family ain't easy!
