If they were willing or able or desirous of getting a work permit for the expat, I think they would. I think they are doing what they are being told to do. We can see the story, and read what it is supposed to mean, but cannot know what it is they really are trying to accomplish. Or perhaps parts of it. The story pretty clearly spoke of the manual laborers, so that part seems pretty black and white to me. I think we still do not know for sure what they are trying to do about the teachers. I do know that if I was not finding success in the work permit thing, I would be looking mostly at alternatives to teaching here. I think they want to adjust the expat group, in terms of size, character, makeup by country, tax compliance and maybe a few other factors. |
