HI
I shall be grateful if anyone who is currently in KSA check if following website open or not.. they are messenger websites...
Means alot to me.. so please help me out. i shall be in Riyadh by the end of May this year
1-- www.fring.com
2-- www.skype.com
3-- www.nimbuzz.com
4-- www.sipgate.co.uk
as anyone can see it helps me to make call back home cheaply. I request you to give sometime to let me know about them asap. Please do mention which internet service provider you used to check them.

Of the apps on your list, Skype is only I use and I use it daily with no problems. |

I have never heard of anyone using it here inKSA
Skype is very common though. |

I use everyone of them except 4-- www.sipgate.co.uk and they are all fully accessible.

Thank you .I guess you know what wonders can happen with these website 
Communication is expensive via mobiles in gulf.. unfortunate reality. Internet is the way to go.
Can you please tell which internet service package you use for these 3 website? DSL or Wimax or 3G?
that will be helpful.. i shall try to start such information blog once i am there.. so much is lacking in unified form about KSA..  |

I seldom use gprs or 3g connection unless I need to demonstrate to friends how it works on my mobile for few minutes. I normally use DSL or wifi for communication. Remember, they are both free . oh well at least you have already for monthly premium.

Dosn't matter what method is used... if something is blocked, it will be blocked through all modes of connecting to the internet (except of course, if you use a proxy to bypass the censorship filters). |
