Hi all,
I have a Residence Permit for Foreigners that expires on the 30th of June, which is the same day my contract ends. I'd like to be able to travel for a couple weeks before returning my home country for the summer.
Anyone know anything about extending a residence permit? Or do I need to get a whole different visa? Do I have to leave the country to do so? Cost?

| Go to the local PSB about a week or a few days before the RP expires. Get it cancelled and apply for a 30 day L visa for tourism. It's a painless procedure, most of the time, though it's possible you might be asked to prove you have funds to support yourself......... but you probably won't. Cost might depend on your nationality, but about RMB300 if I remember correctly. |
