What level of insurance do schools typically have for the cars they provide for teachers? Is it just 3rd party, or more comprehensive? If it's different in different countries, I'd like to know for Europe (Italy, Spain)

Thanks!

I admit, I have never heard of a school providing cars for teachers.

Is it that surprising? Maybe my use of the word 'provide' didn't help, it's not really a car for your own personal use whenever you want.

But yes, schools that require you to go and work in companies or state schools often have a car available for teachers to use. For example, pretty much every job ad I've seen for Italy wants teachers with a driving licence.

No one knows about the insurance thing then?

Actually, I worked for a language centre in Luxembourg that kept a stable of three cars so that teachers could get to distant businesses where there was no public transit.
The university where I work occasionally provides me with a rental as needed.

They had fairly comprehensive insurance (a colleague was in a minor accident, so I remember a bit about the details), but this obviously won't indicate anything useful about Italian schools.

I think you have to ask at the schools.
