Hi all,
I am completely new to this and want to ask if any of you know which Countries are best for employing people like me of a certain age, 58 to be exact? I don't have a degree but have TEFL and tons of experience with children, running my own crèche and fostering for years. Would love to do part time, maybe 20-24 hours per week. I wouldn't mind Hanoi or Taiwan.
Need your help people. |

Frankly, without a degree, your options are limited. Latin America will likely be your best option for legal teaching employment.
One poster over on the Latin America forums, a 50-something nurse with only a two year degree, has successfully made the transition to teaching in Mexico over the past year. To make that work, you'll need a deep savings account to pay the upfront expenses to get yourself started. You can read more here:

I'd also post a more specific inquiry on the General Latin America forums. The folks there can give you more advice if you're interested in exploring that option further. |

Thanks so much for that esl_prof. Have been looking in to it all in far greater detail. |

Effective Jan 2016, without a degree, you can pretty much rule out legal work as an EFL teacher in all of East and SE Asia.
That said, if you get an actual tourist visa (as compared to just an entry on arrival) buy your ticket in and hunt around then illegal work abounds but that option is not without risks (arrest, detention, fines, deportation if caught (small chance)) and not getting paid and being treated like crap (large chance - it's not like you can complain to the labor office)).
