I am considering heading to Germany in July/August 2010. I already have several potential job offers through email.

My question is regarding South African nationals. I have read alot of information on the paperwork and visa process for US citizens but what is the deal for other nationalities? We would like to head to Germany together if possible.

She has a good chance of getting a job at an international school and we will share an apartment to cut living costs. She is a native speaker with 5+ years experience as a qualified teacher in South Africa and the UK and two years ESL experience in South Korea.

Thanks in advance.

South Africans the same as other non-EU member citizens, I think. Not easier, not harder. Your first step in confirming this might be to google Schengen zone and see if SA is in the same category as US and Canada. Second step might be to check the embassy websites regarding citizens of SA working in Germany.

try: http://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/diplo/en/WillkommeninD/EinreiseUndAufenthalt/Visabestimmungen.html

This is the German immigration website and it provides what is needed for someone of any nationality to visit, live, or work in Germany.

Good Luck!
