Hey, interesting stuff. Took the test. For me, it was pretty accurate.
I don't like the title, though. "Yankee or Dixie" just doesn't sound right. |

Shocked by the results. Came up 61% Dixie, weird given I'm from the Great White North. Must be all those years I've spent working with Texans in the Middle East. |

I got that link from another website and don't have any other link for it. I scored 44% Yankee (although I'm Canadian)...I assume this means I speak more like someone from the northern part of the U.S. than the southern part (which makes sense I guess)? |

Huh?!?!? Despite a lifetime of California sun and sand, I came up 55% Dixie.
I actually feel a bit snubbed--are Yankee & Dixie the only two stereotypical accents that are recognized? I can do a decent Valley Girl imitation when properly motivated. (Actually, I'm sure it sucks, but I like to flatter myself that it's decent...)

I am a definite Yankee. 38%
I was born in Iowa, and lived there until I was four, but mostly I have lived in New York state. I spent some time in Vermont and Pennsylvania, 5 years in Maryland, and 5 months in Texas. |

By the way, CaperGirl, have you dug out from the 70-95 cm of snow yet? Holiday from school, Monday? Love to see the reaction from students from .... say....Sri Lanka.
And I'm not being smug. We'll get ours in April or May. Lordie, Lordie. |

I came up as 60% Dixie - odd result as I grew up in southwestern Ontario after 13 years in Toronto. |

I did a search and found the quiz. I"m 48% Yankee. guess that's what happens when you grow up near the Great Lakes. |

Bizarrely, for a Canadian from the west coast, I am 58% Dixie. Where the heck did that result come from?????
Dang. |

Waaaah! I just redid it because I realised I had changed a few of my answers the first time and that can wreck the accuracy of your score.... and this time I came out as 67% Dixie!
What the %&+/% is going on, y'all! |

Don't shoot the messenger!
@ntropy...Those of us on the Cape didn't get it too bad, maybe 30 cms. Halifax got the 96 cms you've heard about in the news. Kids in that region got almost a week off school. |
