What vaccinations are required to work in Saudi Arabia for at least 1 year?

Dear Azad,

Some are recommended, but

but none are required (unless you're arriving from a yellow-fever-infected area in Africa or the Americas. Not recommended otherwise or under age 15 arriving from countries where polio still occurs. One-time booster recommended for any adult traveler who completed the childhood series but never had polio vaccine as an adult.)

Regards,
John

Thank you so much John. I read somewhere that as of last year a vaccination for cerebral meningitis was required for entering the country, but I wasn't sure.

Dear Azad,

Perhaps this is what you read about:

"his vaccination against meningococcal disease is usually not a requirement for entry into any country except Saudi Arabia, which requires proof of vaccination for those making the pilgrimage to Mecca for Hajj or Umra. The vaccine should be given at least 10 days before arrival in Saudi Arabia and no more than 3 years prior to arrival."

Perhaps it varies from embassy to embassy, but I do not think you have to do any vaccinations to enter KSA on a work visa. I have certainly never had to do one, and I've been through the visa process more than once - and then some! Some vaccinations may be recommended, but I do not think any are obligatory.

The Johnslatitis and the NCTBAolis vaccine are highly recommended for this forum. I had mine and am now cured of my feline distemper but look what happened to me. I grew and morphed into something obscene with a psychological disorder.

Dear Grendel,

The side-effects were clearly printed on the label. Caveat emptor.
