Any word on the latest situation at KUSTAR? I'm referring here to the Abu Dhabi campus and specifically, faculty positions (although any info at all would be useful). PM me if you prefer. Thanks! |

Not sure about vacancies in Sharjah yet. We have a couple of staff leaving which is really sad. Will let you know. Basic package is 15,000 + housing which for a family is about 9000 per month, education allowance of 80K (40K max per child) and tickets home. |

Wow. 15k + 9k?
That's the same total package offered at the high school level at IAT. |

15k seems a bit low for a federal institution with the ruler's name all over it...HCT currently offers a similar sum for those without MAs... |

Don't forget that I have also worked for ELS, HCT and the British Council.
My pay may not have gone up but the working atmosphere within the the department has no equal - we share, have no politics and we like each other and respect one another - very rare in this country. We work really well as a team, very supportive and we have a lot of fun. Anybody else have a job like this? |

Yeah, John. But you forget, he's the one who went bad hangin' out with them trolls.
We all knew what that would lead to...

Tom, any ideas on the package being offered to people with MAs? Is it comparative to ZU, HCT and UAEU? |

Snorkel
As far as I can say the package is (for MA's is
15+ salary
9+ housing (cash)
Education 80K from 3.5 - 21 years old
Holidays
Tickets each year for family
This may depend on quals/exp - this is for EFL Lecturer. Senior positions i.e. Professor or Ass. Prof (PHD required) pay more. Dont have the numbers.

Interesting, since that appears to be equivalent to the starting offer for PhD holders a while back. I'm rather surprised that the original poster hasn't been back to comment -- could it be an admin troll? |
