I'm in Beijing now and I've been having some bad luck since I got here (I've posted about it before). My brother had subbed at a kindergarten for a few days through an agency, but the school wanted to cut the agency out and told him to bring me, and they started saying they'd give us 600 yuan a day. The owner is American, so I made the mistake of trusting him without signing a contract. After working there for a week, it turns out they want to give me 7500 yuan a month (instead of 12000), as opposed to the 12000 a month and free apartment they had talked about giving us a week earlier. (I realize this was stupid, and I'll learn from it)

During that time, I turned down a demo and a temp job in Henan, 4800 yuan for 4 days. My friend called me about it. He said it was a government school and sometimes they call him when they need teachers. I sent him a message last night but he hasn't responded yet. I won't be able to do the one he called me about, but I'm wondering if I can get another opportunity like that.

Anyway...is that kind of job common? Is there anywhere I can go for a month or two to make decent money? I'd like to eventually come back to Beijing, but I want to get out of here for a little while. Or...maybe just leave Beijing. I'm not sure what I want to do yet.
