I am looking at teaching in China and have come accross the organisation minibees located in Guangzhou. I believe they pay 7000rmb per month, how does this fit with other learning establishments?
Any advice would be much appreciated
Shane

Think 'package' when considering remuneration. |

This is possibly one of the most vague threads i've seen.
How about some additional information before anyone can help you? Location? Anything else they provide for you? Visa? Residence Permit? Single apartment or shared? Or are you to find your own place? Air fair? Travel bonus?
7k in Shanghai is low whereas 7k in podunk Guizhou is very generous. |

I'm considering the same place. I'm guessing it's the same offer as well; 7k starting salary, apartment and working visa and permit. They don't mention which branch the offer is for (they have eight I think) nor what age range, though I presume that will come up in an interview.
Through a brief search of the forums it seems 7k is quite low for Guangzhou (it's hard to search when the forum returns something like three thousand results) and one post said the school is a good place to work at but no other details. A search of google wasn't too helpful either with only 1 negative review (was more a review on the character of the guy who owns the school which really shouldn't matter) and 2 negative reviews that have been removed.
Hopefully someone has some more information. |

Where are you from, and what teaching experience do you have?
I have had a video interview, the age group is kindygarden. Yes I know what you mean about google search turning up thousands of results. I am in New Zealand, 700rmb equates to around $1300 per month which isnt a lot, but that all depends on the cost of living in Guangzhou.
Have you taught in asia at all before??
Keep me posted
Good luck

Just watch for a split of your day across two or more branches.
and that apartment is near the workplace (s). |

I'm from Australia and I have 1 year experience teaching in China. Apparently Guangzhou is an expensive city, at least that's what I've gathered from a few topics on this forum. If you want to know more, maybe pm me so we don't derail this thread.
How was your interview? Does it seem like a good place so far? I know you can't tell too much until you're there but you're further down the chain than me haha. |

I can tell you about Minibees. It is a book contained in the Catholic Bible, but omitted in the Protestant Bibles. It's part of a set of books called the Apocrypha. Others include Esdras, Tobit, Judith, etc. |
