watch this link - troll the vendors - send cv to awardee
that is if you're interested in living a walled compound with body armor (no, i might be in sunny central florida) teaching a bunch of warlords' sons - who have to pass....

The website is awfully obscure... so are these pilot trainees coming to Florida? Or is the training in Afghanistan?

I work for DOD and taught Afghan pilots in Kabul in '08 but have never heard of this operation.

It's not an operation yet. It's a sources sought by the US Government asking for prospective companies to submit their qualifications
menaing the government wants the work done but is unsure what exactly they want and/or if it can be done
the next step is a solicitation asking for bids/proposals with specific statement of work
The awardee will do the work as per the statement of work outlined by the government in line with their accepted proposal
so far there are 6 registered interested vendors

the work is coming
the work should be interesting
it'll be cheaper to do the english training in afghanistan then the flight training in florida
who knows though - watch it develop

The only issue is whether or not the 'contractor' will provide a good product for the price. Needless to say, in both Iraq and Afghanistan, some contractors have charged the government a fortune and then failed to deliver. In that case, it is not necessarily cheaper to train the students in their home country than to put a bunch of them on a plane and train them in the US where quality control is in place.
