Amideast teachers do not get any benefits. Also, the rate of pay varies in each country that the organization is in. For example, in Egypt, they pay local rates which is roughly 300-500 USD a month. In Yemen, it is 11-15 USD per hour for expatriate teachers. 15 USD is for teachers with extensive experience and a PhD. As for accommodations, again that depends on the location of the organization. They offer a shared space or a rent stipend. If you are from the US, your salary is subject to SSI, Medicare, and Federal Taxes. The rent stipend is subject to being taxed as well. If you don't work, you don't get paid = no vacation pay. Lastly, depending on the location, some pay to fly you there and then back home once you have completed your contract. In addition, they pay for your residency processing. |
