I have worked for Leeds Academy for 7 months I am afraid to say. DO NOT WORK FOR THEM, they are a waste of your time, money and positive energy. The first few months I worked for them the pay was on time or early and after November it has been late by 3-6 days. Leeds took almost near two months before I was able to get an apartment. Then I had to wait 3 weeks for gas lines and 30 year old furniture to be put in. Prior to that they put us up in cheap nasty hotels and had the nerve to deduct the hotel bill out of our salary which was not in the aggreement.
Most of the time the salary is very late and you have to email them or get the school to call them in order to get paid. The bigger problem is that they lie, not just in the so called contract but also to you face, no work visa's were ever processed but they say they will/ did do it. They also say they will pay for resident visas but you wont see a dime and like one teacher I know they took it out of her salary. With over 50 English teachers spead throughout the country, all have problems with Leeds. Seems the only people who are happy working for them are the two week camp workers.
Recently the director of Leeds Academy told me that my school manager was going to pay for my flight to renew my visa. Come the day I was too leave there was no flight booked and the manager said he did not say he would pay for my flight. I spent 800 lira of my own money for that renewal.
During the holiday break my salary was a week late because Leeds was recruiting holiday teachers from abroad and put them up in 5 star hotels with the salary of it's English teachers.
In a nut shell if you are dumb enough to still work for them after reading this. Please at least complain to your school, they won't help you solve the problem but will at least call Leeds and make them look bad.
