Well, when I was working in Assir region, I have known of two Germans who were working with GTZ. They told me that it is a reputable company, and its contracts and salary are competitive (well for blue eyes only! ).
In addition, GTZ provides nice accommodations (villas with swimming pools) and international medical insurrance.
I remember sometime ago, a German employee had a serious car accident in Najran, GTZ sent him a private medical jet to transport him from Najran to Germany!!!!! |

I've heard of them. Nothing bad. Nothing good. They'd probably be alright to take a chance on. |

I've heard they pay around (up to?) 20K SAR/month.
They can also offer EU citizens German citizenship!! Dunno about Amreekaans (reminds me of Afrikaans!), Austraalees & the like... |

STRAIGHT UP!! Something about making it easier for them to employ you (not you!), as per what happened to a friend of a friend. Turns out it didn't happen in the end. |

German citizenship is not so easy to get. Whoever told your friend this was not acting in good faith. |

...but he works for them now. I think they were having problem processing his papers and this would've somehow fast-tracked things a bit. |

It is easier to get Saudi citizenship than German ! There has been some misunderstanding here. Perhaps they said something in jest and your friend took it seriously. |

Yes, come on--companies can't, and the German government won't, hand out German passports like tic-tacs just to make their job vacancies in Saudi Arabia easier to fill. |
