Hi folks,
I am wondering if somebody could help us with a few of the usual questions.
1)Cost of living in Beijing/Shanghai.
Apt cost Per month.
Living costs.
2) Good salary per month.
Would 12,000 each per month+ housing allowance be reasonable. (BA+2 yrs experience for us both)
How much could we save from 12,000 each, if we lived quietly?
3) What are the good schools to contact? We both would like weekdays 8-5pm teaching jobs with reasonably small classes(30 maximum).
Any help on any of those questions would be appreciated?
PM if you can, please.

there's a thread entitled chengde city on xxx/month in the job related forum. someone wrote a fair bit about beijing on there, search that thread out and it will answer most of your questions. in fact, if you scour those archives closely you'll find tons of other useful stuff.

You really should do some google searches instead of expecting others to do your homework. A move to China is not something which someone undertakes without doing a LOT of homework. Get an idea of the lay of the land and then ask questions that require a lot less data.

For an idea of the going rates for public school salaries and some private school salaries, go to abroadchina.com. This will give you a good idea of how the salaries compare throughout China. It'll also give you a good idea of how realistic your expectations of 12,000rmb per month each may be.

Good luck.

In Beijing? Around 7k/month each.

Here assuming that you don't buy any western food, go to coffee shops or hang out at bars...
