Because of my experience with wind turbines, I used to work as a trainer for general entry level wind energy jobs, I am now thinking about taking a teaching job in Germany as they are interested in wind energy research BIG TIME. I have not yet worked overseas before and I would like to know if anyone has some advice for someone in my position who wants to get a teaching job in specifically the Munich or Frankfurt areas. I have a Bachelors in Science and some post baccalaureate studies in the health field, but I do not have any other certifications. Will this help or harm me? How can I start down the path to getting a teaching job in Germany with my current background?

I'm not sure how much demand for an entry-level trainer in your field in English...

Yes, the Germans are well known for innovation in energy production of all kinds. They're not only well known to be interested, but to be proficient at it. What would you have to offer that they haven't already got?

I'm not suggesting that you don't have anything, but you might want to define what that would be, so that you can demonstrate an edge over any German candidates for the kinds of positions you would be aiming for.

Or are you suggesting that you want to teach English in Germany? In that case, certification would be vital, for sure. You'll also need to be aware of Schengen zone regulations (google it for a list of countries), which means that you can only be in the zone for 90 days before you must leave for 90 days before returning. It means that you will need to get certified and find someone to hire you and file paperwork for work visas all within 90 days.

Jobs in Europe, including Germany, are not normally found from abroad, unless you have specialist quals. In your case, it might be worthwhile to contact wind energy providers in advance, if you think they would be interested in hiring you.

For general English teaching jobs, you would need to be here to get a hearing.
