If job and money were no object... if you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?

Tough question, naturally. However, if I were to choose from the cities I've lived in, I'd pick Buenos Aires in a heartbeat. It has amazing food and wine; an active, stylish, and highly educated population; a great mix of European and Latin American cultures; above average weather; a wealth of entertainment (theaters, sports, etc.); a vibrant arts scene; and, oh, did I mention the food and wine? Cool

I think Buenos Aires would be on my list, too, and I only spent about four days there... Based on other places that I've been/lived in, I'd add Prague, San Francisco, and anywhere in Ireland to the list, too.

Why? Well, for whatever reasons, those places just really appeal to me--culture, food, natural scenery, etc., etc.

Sydney for me. I've also heard great things about Cape Town and San Diego but have never visited either. Dublin and Edinburgh are let down by their crappy weather.

Manhattan would top my list, save for the weather. Others would be Mexico City (hey, hey!), Paris, and Vancouver. All cities for me.

Venice, Italy or right where I am: Santa Fe, NM. Both are places you can live in all your life but never get tired of.

In Asia - particularly cos i haven't been everywhere in the world yet - ?

Malaysia, preferably close by kuala lumpur but not in it; as well as within striking distance of the coast. .....

COPENHAGEN. It has been voted both the Most Liveable City in the World, and the Best Design City.

But it is expensive.............

I think I'd stay in Mexico, but certainly not Mexico City--Guy and I are a different breed. I'd probably move into Oaxaca City if money were no object, or Tepoztlan, Morelos.
Or possibly I'd build a Hacienda, somewhere within an hour of Oaxaca City.

Interesting to note the variety of ideal locations - hot/cold, city/sticks, etc. My choice today differs from what I'd have chosen 10 or 20 years ago. Back then I'd probably have gone for exotic and remote - Thailand's 'The Beach' perhaps.

So far nobody seems to have plumbed for a Spanish idyll, which surprises me a bit. And Spain is my choice today - a smallish village in the mountains of Andalucia, close to the sea but far from the Costa.
