|
|
Hi All:
I have an old wireless Mobily connect Internet whatchamacallit, and I was recently told by a Mobily salesperson that they have a new Ferrari Connect which costs a one-time almost $200 fee but then connects much faster (up to 26.1 mbps). I'm sure it's faster, but I'm wondering if anybody has had any actual experience with it and can report actual observed speeds, not just the ones Mobily advertises. Being very cheap myself, I'd rather not part with 700 riyals without a stunningly good reason. Much thanks. |

Cool. What are your Google Earth coordinates, or at least what city are you in? Wish I were there. Anyway, you'd need to have a Mobily HSPA+ tower in range of your Ferrari modem or HSPA+ smart phone to get that kind of speed. |

Hi Bound for Saudi:
Riyadh. Yes, I doubt I can get that speed, but even half of it would be nice. |

I am extremely ed that scot knows about the Bugatti!

Hey... those are the cars of Scot's youth!! (and his father's)
Actually VW owns the name now and are building a new sports car using the name.
Check it out: http://www.bugatti.com/en/home.html

I am a car freak VS
They are not building it, they already built it. Well, they are still making them, but it has been on sale for 2 years now. Only 350 total to be built. I saw one on a road in Jeddah a couple of months ago!
The Bugatti Veyron... the world's
~ fastest (253 mph, 407 kmh) (y'all HAVE to see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk1t6S737Cs where Top Gear drives it to its top speed... very surreal video)
~ quickest (0-60 mph or 0-100 kmh in 2.5 sec)
~ most powerful (1001 horsepower)
~ most expensive car ($1.8 million)
And still it is so easy and forgiving to drive that one can use it as a daily use car (unlike Lamborghinis and Ferraris). |

Yeah trap... now we know how rich you are.
I do have to say that the Bugatti name loses a bit of its panache when combined with "Volkswagen" which always conjures up the old bug in my mind.

Yup, I am too rich... just a few days and I can and do earn enough to buy the Bugatti Veyron*.
*(a scale model of it, costing a few hundred Euros )
If I saved 100% of my current salary, it would take me between 60 and 70 years to buy one!
And I agree VS, with the name under VW ownership. Even more so with Bentley, which is also under VW ownership (and also Lamborghini!). At least with Rolls Royce, it is under BMW ownership! |
