| Globally, financially, even socially, this year 2010 is proving to be one of huge and rapid changes. What are CURRENT ESL teachers in Turkey experiencing as far as TRENDS in hiring and/or the general ESL market's health are concerned? What are JOB SEEKERS CURRENTLY in Turkey experiencing as far as time-frames for interviews and hiring are concerned? |

| This has the potential to be a great thread. No one I know at language schools seems particularly worried, though there's the threat of another crisis looming. My job for fall is assured, (I work at the Faculty of Education at a university) though the group coming to us from the prep class is much smaller than last year. Sorry I can't provide more info, but I will be curious to see what others say.... |

thx 4 responding. this thread is limping when we thought it would shine, sparkle, dazzle, like the dancing rays of sunlight on the waters off of Izmir.
MOD EDIT
My grandfather had to run out of BUrsa in 1905, and my grandmother had to run out of Sivas in 1915---FAST. I wouldnt personally want to do it again, dejavu all over again Yogi Berra.
Is the Turkish lira going to survive the looming niternational sovereign debt/currency crises? |

Greetings,
I recently sent CVs to two K12 schools here in Istanbul and was contacted for an interview within a few days. After the interviews I was made offers via e-mail stating the benefits accompanying the offer. My contracts were also sent with e-mail.
I've been here 4+ years and that was a pleasant change from what I have encountered in the past.
Now just to decide which of these to take
Thanks! |
