Hi everyone,
I am planning to move to Spain next year. What are my chances of finding a part-time teaching job if I:
1) am not a native speaker but hold a CPE
2) have a CELTA but no post/very little-CELTA teaching experience
3) have a degree in teaching English and one year's experience in teaching English in my home country
4) speak fluent Spanish
5) have been living and working in an English-speaking country for 5 years
Many thanks,
Oxana |

Pretty good I'd say. I don't think the non-native speaker thing is frowned upon as much in Spain. With your qualifications you should easily get a job. |

I'd have to disagree with that. As a non-native speaker you'll find it much more difficult to find a job. A lot of schools will not employ you if you are not a native speaker of English, no matter how good your CV.
It's not a policy that I agree with in any way, but it's nevertheless a fact of life.
It's not impossible to find work, but very definitely more difficult. |
