Any info about ET would be helpful; considering a job with them and seen good and bad--but mostly old info. Please help! Smile

I have heard that ET treat its staff well. However the wages are low.
I can assure you ANYTHING is better than the HELL at Berlitz.

ET treat it's staff well? That certainly wasn't true of the Ankara branch, where I worked. That place was horrible to work, with extremely unprofessional management both in that branch and at the HQ. If you're very lucky you might find a branch in Istanbul with a manager who's a decent guy, but you'll still have to deal with all the ridiculous ET procedures in place, plus the new ones which will come down regularly from head office. The books are just awful, riddled with preposterous and incorrect content, you will hate them if you work there. Laughing

If anything I would say the wages at ET were average or even a little higher than other schools. It's not the money, it's the pain you go through to get it...

ET Izmit treated its teachers with unbelievable unprofessionalism. I would also add that ET has lowered its salary over the past year and is supposedly dropping its housing allowance for new hires. I've heard rumours that ET is poised to sell off their schools because they've incurred huge losses this past year. Perhaps the word is finally out and decent students aren't returning.

The Taksim branch has had no Manager or Head Teacher for months.

There are two ways of looking at ET; they're doomed because they continue to stick with that ridiculous book or students will continue to come because they are almost guaranteed a diploma no matter how bad they are.

It's sad to see a school that was reasonably successful (if not professional) become the joke of the ESL world.

Considering you were attacking me for a typo on the UAE pages, I would have thought that you'd at least try proper punctuaction.

Excellent point, although it would have been more impressive if you'd spelled 'punctuation' properly Razz

YOu didnt make any typos on the UAE thread. I was just saying it depends on one's typing skills, because that other poster's English was quite cryptic (i.e. ungrammatical to say the least), and so you'd need to be a talented typist to decipher it. It wasnt meant as an attack on you.

Buy Bulgogi is right, you misspelled punkjuation. Smile

Even MORE excellent point, but it would have been good if you'd put a period at the end of the sentence! Smile
