Hey there, need some advise please. I recently completed an online tefl course with a 20 hour classroom course added on. I am moving to Bratislava in august both as an excuse to leave England and because my girlfriend is Slovak and wants to return home. So really my qestion is this, is the qualification I have enough to find me a job teaching or will I need a CELTA qualificaton or equivilant. Any suggestions or advise would be most welcome as i am little nervous of going unprepared.
thankyou

You need ADVICE (noun)? I will try to ADVISE (verb). Sorry for my nit-picking - I'm sure it was just a typo. I m feeling like a nit-picker this morning. Too much coffee.
In my experience, no-one has asked to see my qualifications in eight years of teaching in Bratislava. You should be able to blag your way into jobs, no problem.
However, I do think it is worthwhile getting some basic training, so you know your language and can teach it confidently. |

I have to agree with MsDooLittle on this. Looking at your post, you need to brush up your spelling and punctuation (qestion/equivilant/August/) otherwise potential employers and students would not be impressed.
Do you have a degree? It would be very useful to have a CELTA, not only for future work, but also for your development and confidence building.
Good luck! |
