Does anyone know if it's even possible to find a full-time ESL teaching position in the US? Has anyone here had any experience with finding one?
I got my Master's Degree in TESOL a year ago, I'm so frustrated about the job situation here in NY. Public schools aren't hiring new teachers, and college teaching jobs all seem to either be part-time or require a PH.D. I teach part-time at a community college, but I can't even afford to move out of my parents' house on the salary I'm making. I'm seriously beginning to consider just getting an office job or something.
I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice, or if anyone is in a similar situation, and would like to chat. |

Not sure if this is your cup of tea, but I work for DOD as an ESL/EFL instructor. It's full time as a civil servant with all the benefits including travel.

| Are you willing to relocate? Do you have a state teaching license? It seems like there are jobs for ESOL teachers in my area - we are always hiring. This year my school added two new positions because our population keeps growing, even when other positions are being cut. |

| I teach in a public school in NY State (not NYC) . There *are* jobs here. Our population is expanding every year. |
