On 1 November 2010 two civil cases were registered at the High Count in Al Hasa (Hofuf), Eastern Province.
1. Against Al Shabaka Training Establishment, an agency that for three academic years has been under contract with King Fasial University to recruit foreign teachers of English language for the Preparatory Year Program.
Allegations are: A) the establishment knowingly and willfully allowed supervisor Marine to escape two criminal court charges by exiting Saudi Arabia at the end of two contracts, not consecutive, on or about July/2009 and July/2010. B) Marine was twice recruited by procedures violating existing statutes, and was promoted from contracted classroom duties to administration status in violation of existing statues, and contrary to specified contractual duties.
2. Against Dr Mohammed, PYP Dean, King Faisal University. http://www.kfu.edu.sa/en/Deans/PreparatoryYear/Pages/deanshipemp.aspx
Allegation is slander, defamation of character. On 4 Dh-Hijja 1429 (2 December 2008) Dr Mohammed wrote a letter on King Faisal University letterhead, addressed to the manager of Al Shabaka Training. This document accuses the plaintiff of various and sundry unprofessionalism and, moreover, recommends termination of contract. Actual termination by Al Shabaka Training issued by illegal document dated two days previous, 2 Dh-Hijja 1429 (30 November 2008). The letter provides no documented substantiation for accusations. The letter was submitted by Al Shabaka Training to the Ministry of Labor Primary court in Al Hasa six weeks later, at which point the plaintiff received a copy.

I know you're upset at Shabaka, but I worked there too. "Marine" is still in the country, teaching in Jeddah - he has not left Saudi. The person who really should be dismissed is the English Program Director, his brother who is a manager, and the PYP dean as stated. Ignorance on this guy's part is extreme. But too many posts about this makes the poster seem obsessed, so be careful. I am glad that something is finally being done about these abusive individuals. |

To seem obsessed, Mr Glad, connotes much. Persistence, familiar in form and function to human rights advocates internationally, is correct, sir. Allow this invocation: Hier stehe ich; ich kann nicht anders.
King Faisal Universitys Prep Year has had enough of dictatorial deanship. Uber-Powers Who Be have judiciously elected for oversight by committee.
Am I to assume that the English Program Director and his brother represent the farce that is pjhonestrecruiting?
Very informed sources reveal that Ministry of Labors Inspections Division conducted an investigation a scant few weeks ago. Whisperings that Shabaka Trainings on-campus supervisory personnel may well be aiding and abetting human trafficking, as in the white-collar version.
Teachers: Make your seat selections now.
Readers again are reminded that the Dr Saadoun, Chairman of Al Shabaka Training, is a member of King Abdullah's otherwise ostensibly righteous Shoura Council. http://shabakatraining.com/
The mind reels! |
