Does anybody know if its easy to get on the NET or PNET scheme once you're in HK?
Are there any agencies which will help your application like teachaway etc or is it best to apply to the board directly? Are you at an advantage if you apply direct to them and you're already living in Hong Kong? I was looking at the above agency but they say you need to be interviewed in the US first.

Is it a long process?

Thanks

A bit easier in HK, because schools can see you, but wouldn't say EASY.

Teachaway is fine. They're official, not dodgy.

Looooooooong.

Can I ask, is it easier to get placed on PNET or NET? which also has most vacancies?

Elliot, based on the qualifications you mentioned earlier you do not have a specific education/teaching qualification. As such you are not qualified as either a PNET or SNET. However, you may get lucky and find a place on the PNET programme. Sometimes they take people who are not qualified if they have not reached their quota. If you want to be an SNET I suggest you take a PGDE.

Exclamation Don't expect to be hired without quals at this time.

There are less than 45 primary schools looking for NETs for the coming academic year, and those jobs will be filled by NETs who are currently in the programme.

As I have posted many times on this forum, Hong Kong is not the place to be if you do not have teaching qualifications.
