For a husband and wife living frugally and trying to land a job. Long term hotels obviously, trying to get a discounted rate, and eating cheaply as possible at food stalls. etc...... do you think 1 month is enough time to find somethign halfway decent? I know Im not eligible to teach at a top notch deal, since I have no certification at all, and only 2 yrs experience in Korea plus a BA in English. Also 45 years old.

US$80-100 should do it per day quite comfortably (providing you stay in a backpackers).

Rememeber you will also need enough to get a flat - one month's rent, one month's deposit and half a month's agent fee - a total minimum of SGD4000 for an HDB (government built flat).
