I've just heard that an international school has had 0 (zero) visas granted for female teachers. The government's way of helping the underemployment of Saudi women, I guess. The rule is that the school has to interview Saudis for teaching jobs, and only if they can't fill the post can they apply for a foreigner's work permit. So if anyone knows women SCHOOL teachers expecting to arrive this year, tell them to check with the school asap.
