| I've been looking at a school in the Baiyun disrict of Guangzhou. The school looks nice but does anyone know about this area. To me it sounds like it is a little out from the city. Info. on the area please? |

I live in the Baiyun District (close to the old airport). Where abouts is the school you're considering?
Cheers! |

The school is called English School attached to Guangdong International School of Foreign Studies. Any ideas? |

The campus you're looking at is actually in the Tai Ping District...quite close to the airport. It's a nice area...not too built up and transportation into the city should not be a problem.
I would assume you'd be living on-campus. I couldn't tell you much about off-campus living in that area as I've only seen the residential buildings while passing by in a taxi (and from what I've seen, the off-campus residential area is quite old and run-down).
The Howard Johnson's Hawana Resort is nearby (map here: http://www.holidaycity.com/hojo-hawana-guangzhou/map.html). I live on the other side of the airport road, just south-west of there.
Cheers! |

I also live in Baiyun district, together with my husband and my son. The place is really nice, a little bit far from the centre, but we have already learnt how to use different means of transport, I am trying to memorise the numbers of buses that can get us to the centre.
I haven't heard about the school, though, so I can't give you any advice, sorry. |
