OK guys,

Here's the deal - I've been offered a decent sounding position in Hai Phong with a school called DTLC. I was wondering does anybody have any experience with either this city or this school, and can you tell me anything about it?

Note: I do NOT have a degree, but I do have a CELTA and 2 years experience. Apparently this isn't a problem. Everything is being paid ofr up front by the school (work visa etc), and I have to get a police check and bring it to a Vietnamese Embassy. Does this sound legit?

Any info would be more than helpful.

Cheers,
Gav

At this point, getting a WP without a degree does not sound legitimate to me. It just doesn't seem consistent with the information presented here in a number of related threads. Personally, I would be cautious. But then, maybe the rules are enforced differently in the various regions of the country. That certainly is the case here in Thailand where I currently live.

I live in/just outside Haiphong. But I've only been here about 3 months so I don't have much to compare it to. I'd rather live here than Hanoi. We go into Haiphong for decent restaurants and supermarkets that sell things we can't buy out in the sticks. Oh, and it's convenient for Halong Bay.
