So to cut a long story short-after completing the long-winded application/ spending over an hour with telephone interview/being told to go ahead and submit the 'supporting documents' for the application-police clearance report, scanned passport etc this morn I receive an e-mail telling me that that they will not be proceeding to the next stage-I know this company doesn't have a good reputation but....imagine if somebody was 'given the green light' by them and proceeded to hand in their notice at their current job or give up the apartment. Oh well, maybe this is a blessing in disguise really.

It's very unusual for them to take back an offer. Perhaps they tried applying for your visa and it was rejected? No offense, but they tend to hire anyone w/ a pulse and a 4 year degree. The only reason they wouldn't is if they thought you were going to be a particularly 'difficult' person.
