|
|
I have a BA, CELTA, and a few years teaching experience.
King Saud University requires teachers to clock in by hand scanning and then write their names and times down. If they are late, it is supposed to be deducted from their salary. They will also receive a call from their supervisor. I don't mean late to classes, which start a few hours after the time teachers should arrive. So teachers sit around for 4 hours in offices, in a building away from civilization, just waiting to teach their class. I was told that in the first year of the program, teachers just came and taught their classes and went home.
This kind of a schedule is not at all normal for university teachers in other countries that I have worked in.
So I would just like to know if anyone knows of a university- particularly in RIYADH- where the management is relaxed, and just expects the teacher to show up to class on time and do a good job.
Thank you. |

Dear LCK,
Darn - you beat me to it: one of my pet peeves.
Regards,
John
P.S. With regard to the OP's question, a university - nope I can't say. But you might want to consider the IPA (Institute of Public Administration.) They usually want an MA, but they have taken on teachers with BAs and a CELTA. |
