Does anyone have any experience with Golden Bridge Education in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia? Have you worked there yourself or know someone who has? Any information you could provide me would be very much appreciated.
Thank you for your time and any responses.

Golden Bridge is, overall, an investment company. Not a school. Their students tend to be unsatisfied.
Golden Bridge tried to recruit me about two years ago. I laughed at their offer.
On a side note, I met the owner of Golden Bridge when I worked for the National University of Mongolia. He can't speak English. Not a word.
I, on principal, will only work for a company whose director believes in its cause.
The owner of Golden Bridge is too lazy to learn English. What does that tell you about his company?
Seriously, do you want to come here to teach English? Because that should be your first and primary reason. |

Yeah, I can't believe their director doesn't speak any English. I've had a meeting with him as well.
I think they might be a good school to work with if (and only if) if you want:
-come in summer
-stay only 1-2 months
-spend time in the countryside
-experience "rustic" Mongolia
I think most of the reputable schools will only hire people for longer contracts--but if your goal is working-holiday then Golden Bridge might actually be the best choice for you. I know they put on a lot of summer camps in the countryside, mostly for children.
I don't think they pay well, but for someone that wants a working holiday I'm sure pay isn't all that high up on their list of priorities. |

Perhaps someone could explain to me why anyone would want to live in such an inhospitable climate. I guess I can understand it if you're into climatological adventurism - given what I've read about the intense climatological conditions in Mongolia; but otherwise, well, I just don't get it. |

Because it has warm summers.
I am living at 70 degrees Lat N. though so my own views may be skewed. I was actually thinking about Mongolia myself since I would not have to buy new clothes. |

But the winters are long, dark and freezing. |

Does the CEO of Victoria's Secret have to wear ladies' lingerie? Does the president of a pharmaceutical company have to walk around with pockets full of prescription medications?
Conversely, if a person won the Boston marathon, would he or she necessarily make a good shoe company CEO? Would a person who knows 14 languages fluently make a ton of money as a language school president? Did Michael Jordan lead the Washington Wizards to greatness?
Just some things to think about. I'll expect your essay, five types pages, double-spaced, on my desk no later than 9 tomorrow morning. |

Right. So, in the same vein, that means all the expat English teachers should learn the local language? Hmmmmm ... |
