Can anyone give any insight into the working conditions etc at Amideast Rabat? I'm considering a job there in October. Any current info would be appreciated.

I have lived in Rabat for a while, and I know several people who work at Amideast. Many are quite young, pay is about 10-12,000dh a month I think... Saturdays are obligatory, some people work on Sundays as well, but you are guaranteed at least one day off a week. The vacation time is generous, actually in any given year you only get about 30 weeks of work, which is fine for some, not for others. Other than that, probably like any other language center... mostly afternoon/evening classes, you will def have some kids classes.

So, I actually had applied for a job there in October as well, had an interview a while back... Have you actually been offered the job, or are you still waiting to hear a final answer from the director? Obviously... a little self-interested in my circumstances Wink Anything else I can tell you about Rabat/ Amideast?

Thanks for that, I had my interview the other day. I was told that I'd receive an email with a copy of the contract, so I guess that means I got the job!

oh so you're in the same boat as me! I'm just waiting for that email... sigh. Well, I might be seeing you there next year I suppose... I would just like to have the official thing on paper. I hope you wouldn't be offended if I asked you to tell me when you finally receive the email with the contract Embarassed lol When it comes to certain things like this I really get antsy and impatient.. it would be nice to know at what point I should stop waiting lol Wink

Just curious (I'm forum-hopping) as I've applied for the AMIDEAST Tunisia outfit & heard back from them. They say to come over on a 3 month tourist visa while they work out getting you your work visa. Is this how the Rabat outfit works as well? Any other information about the company in general would be greatly appreciated. Do they supply housing, or give stipend/help with finding a flat? If full-time work guaranteed?

cheers,

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum but have been reading your comments. I will be teaching with AMIDEAST in Rabat this year. Any other teachers on this forum that are going to be there also? I have some experience with North African culture but this is my first time in morocco and I'm looking for any type of advice.
