I have recently been completed a 60 hour TEFL certification class. I also have a BS in Marketing and zero teaching experience. I do want to complete a 40 hour grammar course but can't decide which one. I am wondering how likely is it that I can get a job in the Middle East with these qualifications and with the added grammar course. Please help! |

Where in the Middle East are you thinking of teaching? If you are thinking of the high paying jobs in the Gulf, there are few - if any - jobs for you. But, you might be able to pick up some courses in places like Morocco or Egypt. You will have to hustle for work and will barely support yourself, but if you're just looking for the experience of the culture, it will provide that.
Saudi Arabia has some very low level employers who hire people with limited credentials and experience... but if you read the threads on the Saudi board, you will see that they are very often abusive employers.
VS
(as to the grammar course, it may help you if your grammar is weak... but it won't be of much benefit as to finding a job) |

I taught in Morocco, had a great apartment and lived far from a Spartan lifestyle, and was still able to send money home. What you say may be true for Egypt, but not necessarily for Morocco. |

cool,
morocco doesn't sound bad and really i'm open to about anywhere decent in the middle east. as far as living conditions. i used to live in KSA for a couple of years so i know what to expect over there. as far as teaching grade levels, how much control do i have in which grades i would like to teach. |
