I have a MA TESOL and have taught at universities in both Japan & Korea. 6 years university teaching experience.
What are the chances of someone like me finding a job teaching at a college or university in Argentia?
My passport is an American one.. |

Me too. I have years and years of experience, a TESL certificate (no M.A.), but also a wife and children - in a country that shall remain nameless- to support. Is there much of a chance of getting a good university or high school job that pays well enough for me to send money to my family, or -dare I say it- would allow the whole family to live in Argentina? I am not at all particular about what city or province I would live in.
P.S. I appreciate how unlikely this all is, but if you can offer any useful information, I am grateful. |

I too am interested in this possibility. I am single, 52, currently teaching ESL at a private academy in Korea. I took the academy job because it was a quick way of getting here, but with master's degrees in English Literature and Education, I think that I will have no problem finding a Korean university job when my contract is done.
However, I would like to know more about teaching in Argentina. My plan has been to retire to Latin America, and Buenos Aires is definitely on my shortlist of possible locations. So I think to myself, why not go sooner rather than later, if there is a way of supporting yourself? I would love to live in BA in my fifties, not just in my seventies. So is it possible? |
