Hi,

Ok I think I know the answer to this but I would like some feedback from those with more experience / knowledge.

Is it acceptable for a teacher to work a 48 hour week with anywhere from 40-48 hours being contact hours (private and group lessons) with the other 8 (rarely) being direct one on one consultations with teachers? So what I am describing is 48 for 48 contracted hours is spent actually teaching.......no prep time built into schedule.

Classes are different levels (from beginner to advanced) and they run 1 hour and 20 mins and there are 10 mins in between classes.

Day starts at 9am or 10 am with a 2 hour or 3 hour lunch and these days always runs to 9pm except the day off and a 6th day that is a half day.

I am in the CIS.

Thanks in advance,

DB

Oh, good lord. There is NO WAY I would accept those terms, unless the pay were in the, oh, $10,000/month range.
You'd be run ragged. Not only that, but when exactly would you be able to plan for decent lessons?
I'd run from this "offer".

I was contracted for 48 hours, 6 days/week 8am to 9.30pm but never did anything like that. Saturday was usually the most busiest but not always. Most of the students were from school, uni or work so general working hours ended up 5.30pm to 9.30pm with some corporate work during the day sometimes.
You need to check with the school exactly what the class schedules are and if it really is that amount of work without time to shit then forget it.
