I'm looking around for some advice on child friendly locations for summer break, anywhere from Aguascalientes on south. Anyone have experience taking kids on such a trip?
We're leaning towards Veracruz for the moment, particularly camping areas, but we're open to any ideas. |

I would say the beautiful huasteca potosina but it's around 40, in some parts 50 degrees there right now.
Len Guanajuato has lots for kids to do (there's a zoo!), and Guanajuato itself is worth a trip. |

I'd say your daughter's still the age where you should go where the parents really want to go. When she's old enough to wine, like say 3, then you can choose a trip she will enjoy. Now she will still just enjoy being with you and she's still at a very portable age. |

Thanks! Yeah at 1, she'll go where I say (not the case at home though!). She's highly active and social so I'm hoping to let her explore that as much as possible.
Zoos are good, we like the idea of animals. |

There's a couple pretty fun balnearios in Hidalgo. You'd be able to take your daughter in the pools there and she'd get a kick out of it (just hold on to her!).
One of the places has some great cheap, local food. Lots of tacos of local plants. And they sell beer inside the balneario! There wasn't an rowdiness when I was there. Just families. Pretty low-key and fun. If you're curious about that one, I'll ask my wife the name of it.
There's another huge one in Hidalgo called El Geyser. But I'd recommend the other one. They've got a nice camping ground next to the pool area (a big park with grass). Best thing that I've found for being outdoors in the area. |
